Calling All Scout Leaders Don't miss our annual combined Cub/Scouts Potluck Supper Roundtable being held December 8th. You won't want to miss out on the fun, especially if you work with Webelos. Come get the latest and greatest information about the troops in your district. Don't forget to bring a covered dish that will feed six to eight people so all the boy scouts will have plenty to eat. Potluck Supper begins at 630p.m., with Roundtable kicking off at 7:00pm, sharp.
Has Your Troop Signed Up Yet? Combined Roundtable December 8th slots are still available. What makes your troop great? Looking for Boy Scouts to do a five- minute presentation on, "Why They Love Their Troop." The clock is ticking and these spots will fill up fast....will your troop be represented? Contact Terri Groom at tbgroom@tx.rr.com to get your scouts on the list for presentations. If you haven't confirmed, you are not on the roster. See you at the table!
The commissioners staff puts on 3 distinct Roundtables each month which are tailored to each program:
Cub Scout meetings require lots of planning on the part of the adults and it can be a challenge to figure out great activities and programs week after week. Cub Scout roundtable is full of great ideas and demonstrations for your next den or pack meeting. Games, songs and activities are a part of every roundtable and you learn by doing. Cub Scout roundtables are high energy and fun. You will meet other scouters in similar roles and you will learn from each other. Everyone gets involved.
Boy Scout Roundtable is different, the boys are older and they are doing the planning. Of course, you are there to mentor and ensure a safe and appropriate program. Boy Scout roundtables focus on helping you provide an environment where your scouts can learn by leading. Roundtables are a great source of ideas for campouts and meetings. Other topics include fund raising and merit badge resources.
High Adventure/Venturing Forum is unique with participation by both youth and adults and is more targeted at high adventure and active participation with the youth leaders.
All three sessions are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Cub Scout and Boy Scout roundtables start at 7:00PM and run during the school year. High Adventure/Venturing Forum starts at 7:30PM and meets year round.
Schedules and locations vary, check the calendar for more details.
All three events are normally held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6411 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Dallas. Map
