This is a great way to raise money for your unit operation, support the council and teach your scouts responsibility and salesmanship.

It's important to identify a unit Popcorn Kernel as soon as possible to begin organizing your unit's activity.

August 24th, Tuesday at 7pm - Poptober Pep Rally:

  • Attend to receive your Everything Box to be used at your Unit Popcorn Kickoff!
  • A MUST ATTEND for EVERY popcorn kernel – new and experienced!
  • Great tools and techniques to make your sale a success
  • Get a sneak peak at the upcoming sale promotions

September 11th - Popcorn Kick-off Meeting (Attend for extra 1% Commission)

  • Every unit that attends the Kickoff will earn an extra 1% commission on top of the base commission of 26%.
  • Three locations will be available for you to attend.
  • Check with your District Executive or the council website for the closest to you
  • Host Your Unit Kick-off Right Away (ideally that afternoon) so Scouts can start selling

September 14th - Alternative Kick-off Meeting 7 p.m. Council Office on Harry Hines

  • Last chance for extra Commission
  • Don’t forget to organize a Blitz Day to get Scouts selling
  • Check in with your Scouts and Den Leaders regularly to keep them motivated the entire length of the sale

October 26th, 2010 - Your unit popcorn and prize orders due to be submitted on-line

  • You probably want the deadline for your Scouts to be a couple of days earlier so that you can have some time to put your unit popcorn and prize orders together.
  • 5 p.m. – Top Salesman submissions due to the council office.
  • Deadline to turn in Fill It Up forms (Instant Recognition).

November 6th, 2010 - Pick up your popcorn. Location and times TBD.

December 4th, 2010 - Money Due into the Council Office

  • Every unit that turns in their money on or before Dec. 4th will earn an extra 1% commission on top of the base commission of 26%.
  • You can turn in your money ANY TIME before then at any of our 3 council office locations during regular office hours.
