District Awards Banquet Our program this year will focus on the 100th Anniversary of Boy Scouts. The featured speaker is David Scott, who is an Eagle Scout, a Vigil Honor member of the OA, and a Wood Badge trained North Trail adult volunteer. David has researched the emergence of the Scouting movement worldwide, which led to the creation of his highly acclaimed book, We Are Americans, We Are Scouts. David's book takes the words and stories of President Theodore Roosevelt, the U.S. President at the time of Scouting's founding, and places them into the framework of the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America. Copies of this book will be provided at the dinner. In addition to the program, we will be presenting the Robert E. Little Service Award, a District Award for long service to Scouting. The District Award of Merit is a Council Award that will be presented to a select few District volunteers for their contribution to the youth in our District. This is also a time to recognize the contributions of many volunteers for their work with units by presenting the Y.E.S. (Your Extraordinary Service) Award as well as Unit Activity Ribbons. The deadline for requesting these awards is December 15, so don\'t miss this opportunity to recognize your volunteer contributions. Individual tickets or tables of 8 may be purchased online. You can use a major credit card to make your purchase. |
