Training Opportunities: Scouts Deserve Trained Leaders

Training Requirements -- New requirements from National dictate that every registered adult have specific training including Youth Protection. Classroom training begins Saturday September 25th. Training makes your job easier and helps you deliver a quality experience. Scouts who's parents are trained have a much better chance staying with the program and advancing.

Cub Scout Leader Specific -- Targeted at specific roles in your unit. Select the session which matches your position. Saturday afternoon 9/25/10. Register in advance.

Webelos Transition -- Addresses specific issues associated with moving from cubs to scouts. Saturday afternoon 9/25/10. Register in advance.

Boy Scout Committee -- Addresses roles of the scout committee members and how they support the scoutmaster and the unit. Saturday afternoon 9/25/10. Register in advance.

Merit Badge Counselor -- This course outlines the role, function and qualifications of merit badge counselors. Saturday morning 9/25/10. Register in advance.

Unit Service and Eagle Service Project Opportunities -- Looking for a service project or an Eagle Project? Here is an organization looking for assistance and willing to work with scouts.

Commissioner Service: -- Commissioners needed, Contact Tony Reynolds tonyr@night.net if you are interested in Commissioner service. This is a very rewarding activity and is a great way for folks who have children who have moved on to continue to contribute to this great program.

Good Turn For America -- Units please enter all of you service hours including, but not limited to, Scouting for Food, Canstruction, Habitat for Humanity, Welcome Home a Hero, Eagle Projects, staffing events, etc. You should be able to create your own login and password if you do not have one.

Woodbadge Training 2010/2011 -- Advanced leadership training for adult scouters. This experience will have a profound impact on your life both in and out of scouting.

Other Information:

Uniform Closet -- North Trail District has a "clothes closet" for "gently used and experienced" uniforms and other scouting materials. These items are available to scouts who need them.

Welcome Home a Hero Today -- Everyday, Soldiers return from overseas at DFW airport, help show your support and welcome these men and women home.
